I’m not only teaching your child. I’m teaching you how to ensure they develop a love of music at a young age, and cultivate that love of music throughout their lives, gaining music literacy and piano skills along the way. Once we find each other and decide it’s a match, I’m the kind of piano teacher that becomes a part of your life and you a part of mine.
A lifetime of piano study is a huge investment of time and money. Music lessons, for the young, are rarely successful without parental support. From carving out time in the day for listening to music selections and engaging in piano activities to being there for recitals and performances, the child’s primary adult(s) play a big role in this journey.
The Commitment
A lifetime of music literacy and fulfillment.
Do you envision a lifetime of music education, at and away from the piano, for your child? One that evolves and grows with your child along with the way their brains and bodies naturally develop?
Are you willing to actively engage in the musical development of your child when they are young and continue to support their music learning journey as they grow?
The fruits of our musical efforts are not always apparent right away. Are you willing to trust me and the music learning sequence that yields literate and fulfilled musicians, but also takes time and patience?
The Research
Music is best learned the way language is learned.
Children learn best when they learn music in a similar way that they learn their native language, that is to develop listening, speaking, thinking, reading, and writing vocabularies in that specific order.
Following a meticulously crafted learning sequence and a piano method based on Music Learning Theory, we can ensure your child will grow to reach their full music potential.
The Expectations
We are in this together.
I, the piano teacher, am in charge of the quality of the lessons, following the music learning sequence, and educating you on the ideal musical timeline that your child will follow.
You, the adult, are in charge of trusting me and acculturating your child at home with plenty of listening time and playful piano activities until they are ready to begin more formal music instruction and become independent practicers.
I will be with you every step of the way on this musical journey.
