Recitals

Participation in recitals is optional, but highly encouraged. Recitals are motivating! Students are able to share their music with friends. family, and other piano students. Beginner students get a glimpse into their musical futures as they watch the more advanced students. Advancing students get to reflect on how far they have come as they enjoy the beginner performances.

Halloween Recital: Costumes in Concert

October 29, 2022

10:00 AM at South Regional Library in Lafayette, LA

One of the favorite events of the year! Students dress in costume and play one spooky sounding piano piece. The piece can be a learned selection or an arrangement/composition created by the student.

Holiday Recital

December 17-18, 2022

Choose one recital from Saturday December 17 or Sunday December 18.

Location and time TBA.

This year, we are having two recitals so that students are able to flex their holiday playing skills and play a collection of holiday music instead of just one piece! After five solid years of audiation-based piano lessons, the students can do amazing things with Christmas tunes!

Spring Recital

May 13 or 14, 2023 TBD

Location and time TBA.

The Spring Recital is an opportunity, not only to share music, but also to reflect on the piano year and everything we’ve accomplished.

This recital is followed by a brief awards ceremony where students are recognized with a Music Teachers National Association “Piano Study Award.” In addition to a certificate, the first 6 years are celebrated with a ribbon and pin (each color ribbon represents a specific year) and the next 6 years are celebrated with a medal (each medal represents a specific year).

Any students who have participated in adjudicated playing events will also be recognized and receive their awards from those events.
